Inadequate infrastructure and limited space at the preschool hindered the quality of early childhood education, depriving children of a safe and stimulating learning environment crucial for cognitive and social development. Improvements to classrooms and facilities have since created a more appropriate, safe, comfortable, and functional space. These upgrades ensure children now learn in an engaging environment, supporting better teaching and participation, and positively impacting early childhood development and school readiness.

About the Community

The population of the urban area of the municipality is dedicated to commerce or work within and outside the area, they travel to work mainly in the city of Chiquimula, the municipality of Quezaltepeque or Esquipulas. In the urban area of San Jacinto, Chiquimula, a public school faced serious infrastructure limitations, despite serving a growing number of students from neighboring villages who were seeking a better quality of education. The existing facilities were not adequate to meet current academic needs, particularly in terms of access to technology and suitable learning environments.
