📅 Project Timeline

June 2026
For a long time, the children at our school lacked access to safe recreational spaces. This limited their opportunities for physical activity and social interaction—both of which are absolutely essential for healthy child development. Thanks to your incredible support and Hopscotch The Globe YouTube page, we have successfully installed brand-new playground equipment! This project does so much more than just provide a safe space for recreation; it complements academic learning with play-based development. Today, our students finally have a safe, joyful area to play, interact, and grow. Thank you for improving their physical health, boosting their social skills, and creating a more dynamic, balanced school environment!

About the Community

The community of Lomas Abajo is a rural area with simple living conditions and limited access to basic services. Its economy is based primarily on subsistence farming, especially the cultivation of corn and beans. The climate is hot and dry for much of the year, which affects agricultural production and access to water. Among the main challenges are poverty, limited access to healthcare, education, and infrastructure. Furthermore, it faces difficulties with rural roads and few employment opportunities for its residents.
