The school had deteriorated infrastructure and lacked adequate learning conditions for students. Classrooms were not suitable for a growing number of learners. This negatively affected both teaching quality and student motivation. The project implemented repairs and infrastructure improvements to upgrade classrooms and facilities. About the Community

The community of Lomas Arriba is a rural area characterized by simple living conditions, where many families depend on limited basic services and modest housing. Its economy is mainly based on subsistence agriculture, with crops such as corn, beans, and other local products. The climate is generally warm, typical of eastern Guatemala, with dry seasons that affect agricultural production. Among the main challenges are poverty, limited access to healthcare, education, and proper sanitation, although there are rural schools and developing community projects. Additionally, the community faces environmental issues such as inadequate waste management and infrastructure difficulties, which impact the quality of life of its residents.
